Stones2Gems Cottage is a cozy and comfortable holiday cottage owned and maintained by Greg and Nancy McHone of North Head, Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada. The cottage has been renovated from top to bottom, including new floors, appliances, and beds. It is quiet, comfortable, private, and very clean. We will rent it by the week (Sundays noon to noon), only to mature, non-smoking couples and individuals.

Our first season will start June 28, 2009, and the following rental seasons will be from May through October. For our first year we will offer a discount rate of only $450 per week plus a security deposit -- next year it will be higher but still competitive with other cottages on the island. The location at 15 Durant Drive is excellent, with only a short walk down the lane to Pettes Cove Beach and Net Point, and up the lane to Swallowtail Head and Light. Pettes Cove is unspoiled, beautiful, and quiet, yet close to nice restaurants and shops. The cottage is suitable for 1 or 2 adults, and a third person could use the futon. It is not for large families or for extra guests to stay over. One small pet is OK with an additional pet deposit of $50, refunded if there are no problems.

The cottage is small, no ocean view because it is set well back in a large private lot. But it's close! There is one bedroom with two new twin beds, a full bathroom off the bedroom, and a great room with a full kitchen and living area including a futon sofa. A TV in the corner is for watching videos (not broadcasts -- did you really come to Grand Manan to watch TV?), and there is a small library of dvd/videos and books. No telephone is installed -- bring your cell phone.

The cottage is set well back from Durant Drive, which does not have much traffic anyway. The side deck has a patio table with two chairs.

The kitchen has some new appliances and is fully functional, including a dishwasher.

The living room has a comfortable futon, and a TV that plays videos and dvds.

The bedroom has two beds with thick and comfortable mattresses, two night stands, and one chest of drawers.

The bathroom is off the bedroom. It has a closet with shelves and a clothes hanger rod, tub with shower, sink and toilet. The tile floor and wainscoting are new.

The front and side yards are large enough for outdoor games.

Walk to Pettes Cove Beach in 5 minutes, and to Swallowtail Head Light in less than 15 minutes. Click on the image for a larger version
